What does a comprehensive evaluation look like?
Evaluations are customized based on each individual’s needs. Prior to beginning the evaluation, you will meet with your provider for an initial intake interview where you will review your developmental, psycho-social, and medical history, as well as have an in-depth discussion about your current concerns and reason for seeking an evaluation. At the end of the initial intake, your provider will have a better picture of how to best meet your needs. You will then discuss the evaluation plan, which includes an estimated amount of time for the entire evaluation, as well as the estimated cost.
After you’ve reviewed the evaluation plan, the next step would be to schedule the testing appointment. The amount of time spent testing depends on each individual's assessment needs. Typically, testing ranges from 2 to 6 hours. Parent, teacher, and/or self-report questionnaires will also be sent via email to complete.
After the testing and observations are complete and all questionnaires have been returned, we will schedule a feedback discussion appointment about 2 to 4 weeks out from that date. Your provider will spend this time scoring the assessments, interpreting the results, and writing your integrated report. At the feedback discussion appointment, your provider will review your evaluation results and individualized action plan that was developed from these results. After the feedback discussion session, you will also receive the comprehensive report which outlines the relevant background information, testing, and most importantly, the clinical conclusions and recommendations.
How do I schedule an intake appointment?
Most services require an initial intake appointment so that we can review all relevant history and get an in-depth picture of your current concerns. Our client and scheduling coordinator, Charla, can help get you started with this process. Please email her at info@pnw-psych.com.
How long is your waitlist?
Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations: We currently have a waitlist for psychological evaluation intakes, which will be scheduled in Spring 2023. Testing is usually scheduled soon after the intake appointment, typically within 3 weeks.
Targeted/Combined Adult Evaluations: We are currently scheduling these evaluations for the Winter/Spring of 2023.
Post-Evaluation Support: We are typically able to schedule post-evaluation support sessions within 2 to 4 weeks.
Therapy: Please email or send a Contact form to inquire about therapy availability.
Do you take insurance?
We are not contracted with any insurance companies due to the limitations and restrictions insurance companies place on psychological services. As a result, we are able to use a collaborative process to determine the best care for you or your child. However, we are able to provide an itemized invoice for all evaluations and therapy services for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please see below for a list of questions to ask your insurance provider to determine your out-of-network coverage.
How much do your services cost?
Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations: The fee for the intake session is $500. After the intake session, your provider will send you an estimate for the remainder of the evaluation process, including the direct testing, talking to outside sources (such as teachers or therapists), scoring and interpreting the data, writing the report, and the feedback discussion session. Typically, these estimates range from $2750 to $3750. This is dependent on each person’s specific evaluation needs.
Targeted Adult Autism Evaluations: $1500 flat fee, which includes the evaluation appointment and report.
Targeted Adult ADHD Evaluations: $1500 flat fee, which includes the evaluation appointment and report.
Combined Adult Autism & ADHD Evaluations: $2000 flat fee, which includes the evaluation appointment and report.
IQ Testing: $750 flat fee, which includes the IQ testing appointment, report, and a 15-minute feedback call after report has been completed.
Individual Therapy, Parent Coaching, Post-Evaluation Support: The fee for the intake session is $350. After the intake session, our fee is $210 per 45-50 minute session.
Group Therapy: $100 per session.
How have your services changed due to COVID-19?
Due to the potential health risks posed with COVID-19, a greater sense of flexibility is required in order to ensure everyone’s safety. At this time, we are only scheduling therapy services, targeted adult autism evaluations, and post-evaluation support via a HIPAA-compliant Telehealth video conference.
For comprehensive psychological evaluations, all intake and feedback appointments will take place via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth video conference or via phone. In some instances, we may be able to gain valuable information by evaluating you or your child through Telehealth testing and observations. In other cases, it may be clinically necessary to meet in person for the testing portion of the evaluation process. It is also possible to do a hybrid model of both telehealth and in-person testing. We will discuss all options during the initial intake appointment.
What are your COVID-19 office policies for in-person appointments?
We have several policies and procedures in place for our in-person appointments, including:
-
Masks are required when in the clinic.
-
Clients will be required to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer when they arrive. Hand sanitizer will also be available throughout the appointment.
-
Plenty of breaks will be available, including the option of taking “mask breaks” outside.
-
HEPA-grade air purifiers are used in waiting rooms and in the office space.
While we typically have a 2 business day cancellation policy, this policy does not apply if you begin to display COVID-19 or any other cold/flu symptoms.
